Our Program

The Mercy Seat is a Christian-based, long term, residential substance abuse program and is available to women at no cost to them. Our one-year program offers structured Biblically based courses and activities, focused on each individual’s recovery and specific personal issues. Clients attend daily classes with a Christ-centered curriculum, weekly counseling with a Christian Counselor, group counseling and support group meetings. Ladies attend Church weekly, along with a volunteer/work therapy component. Ladies are supervised 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by trained House Managers and Volunteers.  

 

Criteria

The Mercy Seat is a 12-month program, A firm commitment to complete Phase 1 is required. The Mercy Seat is not a medical/mental health facility. We cannot accept ladies who are pregnant, nor are we equipped for those suffering from major mental disorders, ongoing physical problems requiring regular monitoring by a physician, or taking particular types of medication. You are not a candidate for this program if you have excessive unresolved legal issues or if you are unable to maintain the busy, daily structured schedule required of clients. The Mercy Seat is a Nicotine Free Program. No cigarettes, vaping or other tobacco products are allowed.

Commitment

  • Must be committed to complete a Twelve-Month program.

  • Strive to do your best and receive all The Mercy Seat has for you (No lazy, “whatever” or “I DON’T CARE” attitudes). You will get out what you put into this program.

Obedience

  • Must be willing to adhere to strict program guidelines including interactions with approved family members.

  • Must consent to releasing confidential information to The Mercy Seat program and Director of.

  • Must be respectful to staff and clients at all times.

Medication

  • We do not allow medication administered by a needle.

  • Clients are not allowed to take mood-altering medications (i.e. opiates, muscle relaxers, narcotics, etc.)

  • All medication brought in must be current and in the original bottle.

Health

  • Must be physically and mentally able to participate in the busy structured schedule required, as well as the volunteer / work therapy component of the program.

  • Cannot be pregnant.

  • Cannot have mental illness that could interfere with the ability to understand recovery concepts, hinder others’ recovery, or who would require one-on-one staff or medical monitoring.

Legal

  • Cannot have excessive or unresolved legal issues (i.e. outstanding warrants, pending court dates, or legal appointments), be on Community Control or House Arrest, or be court ordered to attend other programs.

  • Cannot have a history of serious criminal offenses.

  • Cannot be a registered sex offender.

If the applicant is incarcerated or otherwise without Internet access, you will need to print the application, mail it to them, and have them directly mail us the application along with a letter explaining their current situation and why they would like to enter our program.
