About Us

The Mercy Seat provides a comprehensive, structured environment for individuals seeking recovery from substance abuse within a Christian framework. The one-year residential program emphasizes a Christ-centered approach, designed to address not only the addiction but also personal issues that may contribute to substance use.

Participants engage in daily classes that incorporate Biblically based teachings, allowing for spiritual growth alongside recovery. Weekly counseling sessions with a Christian Counselor further support individual needs, helping clients develop coping strategies and deeper understanding of their struggles. Group counseling and support meetings foster a sense of community among participants, promoting accountability and shared experience.

For female clients, attending church services weekly reinforces spiritual practices and connection to the faith community. The volunteer/work therapy component encourages personal development and responsibility, providing practical skills that can be beneficial post-rehabilitation.

Support is constant, with trained House Managers and volunteers available 24/7, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for healing.

What is the mercy seat?

The Mercy Seat was the top of the Ark of the Covenant. It’s where God told Moses, He would meet with him.

“You shall put the mercy seat on top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the Testimony that I will give you. And there I will meet with you, and I will speak with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony, about everything which I will give you in commandment to the children of Israel.” Exodus 25:22.

The Mercy Seat was also where the blood was sprinkled from the sacrifices for propitiation of the people’s sin. The Mercy Seat was the place of atonement.

Fast forward a thousand years and Jesus enters the scene. The eternal sacrifice and atonement for our sins.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; they are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. God presented Him as The Mercy Seat by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His restraint God passed over the sins previously committed.” Romans 3:23-25

So The Mercy Seat is…

a place of God’s presence where you can meet with Him.

a place for sins to be washed away.

and most importantly….It’s Jesus.
